Meet Dr. Franklin
Dr. Franklin is a native of North Carolina and attended undergraduate, dental school and graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his D.D.S. degree in general dentistry in 1994 and his Master of Science with a Certificate in Periodontology in 1997. During his undergraduate dental training he received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Franklin served as chief resident during his final year at the UNC Department of Graduate Periodontics.
Dr. Franklin’s graduate research was in immunology. His masters thesis investigates the effects of specific periodontal bacteria on the human immune system.
Dr. Franklin was the first periodontist in NC to practice LANAP, and being a expert in Laser Periodontal Therapy has lectured on Laser Periodontal Therapy®.
